Slutsk vs Energetik-BGU predictions for Friday’s Belarus Premier League clash. Slutsk hope to move further clear at the top of the Belarus Premier League when they face Energetik-BGU on Friday. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Pick: Both Teams To Score

REASON FOR THIS PREDICTION

  • Slutsk have seen both teams score in six of their seven Belarus Premier League matches, failing to keep a single clean sheet.
  • Energetik have scored in four of their seven league games and only kept three clean sheets.
  • Slutsk have won five of their seven matches this season, with two of the last three ending 2-1.

Change in tact proves fruitful for Slutsk

FC Slutsk picked up another impressive victory last weekend with a 2-1 result away to Dinamo Minsk, extending their winning streak to three matches and leaving them two points clear at the top of the Belarus Premier League table.

This is entirely unexpected given their disappointing 11th place finish last season, and even more surprising is the fact that it stems from an unusually attack-minded approach. They have scored a league-high 14 goals already this season, totalling 48% of their 2019 tally after just seven games.

Energetik bounce back after losing streak

Energetik-BGU, on the other hand, have seen something of a reversal in their goalscoring ways. Their 2019 campaign saw a huge 118 goals scored in their 30 Belarus Premier League games, averaging 3.93 goals per game.

So far in 2020 they have averaged a comparatively modest 2.14 goals per game, although this change in tactics has resulted in a much more promising start to the season in terms of results. Their 2-0 win over Smolevichi last weekend ended a run of three consecutive defeats and leaves them 4th in the table.

Goals on the cards at Stadyen Haradski

While Energetik seem to have moved on from the goal frenzy of 2019, they have still managed to find the net in four of their seven games this season. On Friday they come up against a Slutsk side yet to keep a clean sheet in the top flight despite their lofty position in the table, so the visitors will be confident of finding their way onto the scoresheet again here.

That being said, keeping the Belarus Premier League’s top scorers out at the other end could prove a challenge. Energetik have conceded in four of their seven games as well, while Slutsk have only failed to hit the back of the net once this season. The visitors will also have to deal with the suspension of defender Aleksandr Svirepa after his sending off last weekend.

All things considered, a bet of both teams to score looks a favourable price here. We do think Slutsk can add another win to their tally though. They have won five times already this season and averaged two goals per game, and with two of their last three outings ending 2-1 we’re going for another 2-1 win for the hosts.
